The information below will help you better understand the yarn-types that make up the products that we sell; where to use them and what to look out for.

There are two main types of Synthetic yarn in our products.

Our Printed Collection is printed on a polyester-knit. Polyester is known as the fabric type that best holds colours in a printing process. 

The Robust, Natura, Inside Out and Flip Flatweave ranges are manufactured with polypropylene. This is a strong and durable material which can be extruded in such a way that the colour is in the yarn - not just dyed on the outside of the yarn.

It is this factor combined with UV stabilisers that make this yarn-type ideal for outdoor use, as well as commercial use. It also means that these products can be cleaned with quite abrasive cleaning materials.

Finally, we have Sisal & Seagrass ranges. These are products made using a natural fibre - a fibre constructed from plant materials.

Sisal is yarn spun from the Agave plant. 

Seagrass is constructed using a yarn spun from a dried sedge plant grown in saltwater marshes.

Because these are not synthetic yarns, the thickness, length and other characteristics of the yarn are not uniform. The natural variations in these traits give the product its rich texture as well as natural variance in the weave and construction. These are not seen as manufacturing faults.
